Asking a question on behalf of a caregiver without internet or email access. Her friend / neighbor has been diagnosed with dementia. Based on the description it sounds like early stage and may still have capacity to make decisions. The care recipient originally, signed a POA that gave control of her finances to her sister. Based on the description of the friend, the sister has not done a good job providing support and access to funds. The client is interested in making a change to her POA. What is the process and requirements to make a change to a POA? Thanks!

Just following up on the discussion from the meeting. Here is the link from the Alz Association. https://www.medicalert.org/alzheimers-dementia For those that already have the bracelets, a couple questions: -How did your loved one react to wearing the bracelet? -If they resisted, how did you get them to agree? -Benefits of the medical alert bracelet vs alternative?

This is the best Apple Watch alternative I have seen. Looks like a lot of great features and reasonably priced. You can watch the video below. Looks like they are having a deal right now to coincide with Amazon Prime day for $100 + $8.99/ month. If your loved one won't wear the apple watch you may look into this product. https://www.jiobit.com/product-select-99?utm_expid=.2A4rvRhcQ1KoJieCnY6jEg.1&utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jiobit.com%2Fproduct-select-99

Hi everyone, I created a template based on Doris' design on Canva. With the link below you should be able to edit and order additional cards. I have ordered several items from Canva and they have always turned out great. Hi Russell, Thanks for helping out here! For new family caregivers, what is the best way to approach family dynamics to avoid conflict in the future?

Just a friendly reminder that Jefferson Outreach and UT Health are hosting a Memory Café tomorrow morning in our office building from 9-11am. Address: 2201 St. Cloud, San Antonio, TX 78228. For those unfamiliar with the memory cafes here is a brief description: A Memory Café is an inclusive space where people living with dementia and their family caregivers can relax, learn, be creative, and socialize with others. I stumbled upon this article today. Thought some of you may find it interesting. I know many of you found the Alzheimer's diagnosis processes very frustrating. https://www.studyfinds.org/eye-scan-may-detect-alzheimers-disease-earlier/ Also, How was last weeks session with Ginny?

I wanted to get feedback from the group. It seems many are struggling with ideas on activities to do with their loved one and that others like a caregiver or friend can do. I have brainstormed individually with some of the group but I wanted to keep a running thread where the group can share ideas with each other. Looking forward to hearing from the group.
